Eight promises
NO SMALL PRINTWe won't hide gigs because nobody paid us.
If we know about a genuine grassroots gig, we want people to be able to find it.
We won't make artists pay to exist.
Artists shouldn't disappear from the map because they don't subscribe to a software platform.
We won't make venues pay to exist.
A venue putting on live music is already contributing to the ecosystem.
We'll look hardest where nobody else is looking.
Ticketed gigs already have platforms, feeds and commercial incentives helping people discover them.
Free and low-cost gigs often have a Facebook post, a poster behind the bar or a venue page.
Originals or covers, if a genuine grassroots gig is easy for the commercial internet to miss, that's exactly where should spend its effort.
Ticketed gigs still belong here. They just aren't where the discovery problem is hardest.
We'll try to show where our information came from.
The web is messy. Gigs change. People make mistakes. We want to become increasingly transparent about what we know, where we learned it and how confident we are.
We'll correct things.
isn't supposed to be a giant untouchable database. Artists, venues and people who actually know their local scene should be able to help make it better.
We won't try to keep you in the app.
No endless scrolling. No notifications designed to drag you back.
The objective isn't to keep you in . It's to get you out to a gig.
We'll keep looking.
The objective isn't to list some gigs.
It's to find the gigs.
Spotted something wrong? Flag it on the record and we'll look at it. No account needed.
