This policy covers everything bndy runs: this website, the gig map, and Backstage. The short version: we collect as little as we can, we don't sell data, and we don't run advertising trackers.
01Who we are
bndy is operated by Flowency Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company number 15744316), registered office Bank Chambers, St. Petersgate, Stockport, SK1 1AR. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

02What bndy does
bndy finds live music that has already been announced publicly: on venue pages, band pages, posters and local listings. We connect those announcements to artists, venues and places, and put them on a map so people can find gigs near them.
03Information about artists and venues from public sources
Because of what bndy does, our listings include information that artists, venues and promoters have already made public: act names, venue names and addresses, gig dates, and links to public pages and websites. Some of this counts as personal information, for example where an act performs under a personal name.
We process it on the basis of our legitimate interest in helping people find live music that has already been publicly announced. We only gather what was published to promote the gig, and we show it for exactly that purpose.

04Information you give us
- Backstage accounts. When you create an account we collect your name, email address and the profile details you choose to add for your act or venue.
- Sign-in with another service. If you sign in with a service like Google or Facebook, we receive your name and email address from that service. We do not receive your password and we do not post on your behalf.
- Messages. When you email us or flag a problem, we keep the message so we can deal with it.
- Claims. When you claim an artist or venue page, we keep the evidence you provide so we can verify the claim. See the claim policy.
We process this information to provide the service you asked for (performance of a contract) and, for claim evidence, in our legitimate interest in keeping listings accurate and preventing false claims.
05Information collected automatically
- Server logs. Like almost every website, our servers record IP addresses, request times and pages requested. We use these for security and to keep the service running. Logs are kept for a short period and then deleted.
- Your theme choice. This website stores your light/dark preference in your own browser. It never reaches our servers.
- Location on the map. If you allow the map to use your device location, that happens on your device to centre the map. We do not build a history of where you have been.
We do not run third-party advertising trackers, and we do not sell or rent personal information to anyone. See the cookie policy for the full picture.
06Who we share information with
- Service providers. We use cloud hosting and email providers to run bndy. They process data on our instructions under contract.
- The public. Artist and venue profiles, and gig listings, are public. That is the point of them. Your Backstage account email address is never shown publicly.
- Legal requirements. We disclose information if the law requires it.
That's the whole list. No data brokers, no advertisers.
07Where data is stored
Our services run on cloud infrastructure in the UK and Europe where possible. Where a provider processes data outside the UK, we rely on recognised safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
08How long we keep things
- Account data: for as long as your account exists, then deleted within 30 days of closure.
- Public listings: gig history is part of the living record of grassroots music, so past events stay listed. Personal data within a listing is corrected or removed on request.
- Messages: up to 24 months after the last contact, then deleted.
- Server logs: a short rolling period, then deleted.
09Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to: access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, object to our use of it, or give you a copy in a portable format.
Email hello@bndy.co.uk and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
10Children
Backstage accounts are for people aged 16 and over. The public map and website carry no age restriction: they are gig listings.
11Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update this page and change the date at the top. We won't quietly weaken it.
