01What claiming means
bndy finds artists, venues and gigs from public announcements, so your page may exist before you do anything. Claiming makes it yours: your profile, your dates, your story. Once claimed, nothing changes on your page unless you change it, though the local curators who help keep bndy accurate can still fix a wrong date for you.
Claiming costs nothing. That's our promise, in writing, on the promise page.
02Who may claim an artist
- The artist themselves.
- A current member of the act.
- Somebody authorised to act for them, such as a manager. We may ask for confirmation from a member.
03Who may claim a venue
- The owner or licensee.
- The manager, or a steward or committee member for clubs and community venues.
- A member of staff authorised to manage the venue's listings.
04How verification works
We check that the person claiming is connected to the act or venue in the real world. Evidence we accept includes:
- Contact from an email address, page or website that the act or venue already uses publicly.
- A reply or post from the act or venue's established public page confirming the claim.
- Confirmation through Facebook that the claimant has authorised access to the artist or venue's established Facebook Page.
- For venues: confirmation through details that match public records, or a phone call to the venue's published number.
We may ask a question or two. We approve when the evidence adds up, and not before. Blank beats wrong, and unclaimed beats wrongly claimed.
05Disputes
If two people claim the same page, evidence decides, not speed. We look at who currently runs the act or venue in the real world: who plays the gigs, who runs the room, who controls the established public pages.
Band splits happen. Where two groups continue from one act, we will usually keep the page with the line-up that continues under the name, and help the other create its own page. Where it is truly unclear, the page stays with the curators until it is clear.
To dispute a claim, email hello@bndy.co.uk with the page and your evidence. We respond within 14 days.
06Misuse
A false claim is impersonation. We revoke false claims, restore the page, and may close the account under the terms of use.
07Removing a claim
You can hand a page back at any time, and claiming never locks you in. If you leave an act or a venue, tell us and we will pass control to the right person.
